WHO/INRUD prescribing indicators with a focus on antibiotics utilization patterns at outpatient department of Adigrat general hospital, Tigrai, Ethiopia: a retrospective cross- sectional study

Abstract

This study analyzed 600 prescriptions at Adigrat General Hospital, Ethiopia, finding 44.5% included antibiotics, with high adherence to generic prescribing (91.5%). Predominant diseases were respiratory and infectious. Significant predictors included age and number of diseases. The findings highlight the need for antibiotic stewardship to combat antimicrobial resistance.
